Mermaid dresses are fitted at the top. They flare out at the knees to create a dramatic hourglass shape. This silhouette is more about enhancing your curves and creating a dramatic look. A voluminous bottom can balance broad shoulders. Often these dresses are worn with shape wear underneath. Before choosing a mermaid dress, you should keep in mind that this silhouette restricts movements to a certain extent.
